As a human, husband, father, engineer and bass player, I consider myself creative and yet technically driven. As an engineer I am glad that I retain some of the childlike interest in how things work and how to fix them when they are broken, or preferably to make sure they don’t break in the first place. So it’s really quite a passion to be involved in this area of engineering support.
I started via a trade apprenticeship in mechanical engineering and then progressed via part-time and evening studies to become a qualified engineer at IEng. I have worked in an industrial lubricants role supporting lubricant development programmes and operating oil and vibration analysis contracts and also in a classification role as lead specialist in the area of maintenance management and condition/risk based maintenance.
I continue to be involved with core industry groups such as the IMech E Tribology Committee, BiNDT lubrications analysis committee and via them through to ISO as UK expert for lube based Condition Monitoring, where we are now embarking upon mature candidacy route for a general condition monitoring qualification and also a CM apprenticeship scheme.
I know what I know, but I also know when to say I don’t, but I might know someone who does! As a result we have developed collaborative relationships with a number of expert providers in complimentary fields.
My company Optimain Limited is UK-based but operates worldwide. Optimain Limited is fully independent and indemnified organisation that operates within to a ISO 9001:2015 quality management framework.
We are trusted by well-known international and local companies and we take every job and every company we work with very seriously. As a sole consultant and adviser, for me it’s personal and it matters. As I said it’s about people and I don’t like to let people down.
I would love it if you got in touch and had a discussion to see if we can help you.
